I’m going to be honest here, it feels like I wore this outfit and this day was weeks if not months ago, when it was simply a week ago today we snapped this outfit outside the tents. I’ve heard your first NYFW is a whirlwind, and frankly that’s an understatement! Don’t let the sunshine deceive you! It was freezing outside – hence the layers. I’d rather be prepared than not, but I have to say inside the tents I could shed my jacket and feel fine.
Friday morning officially marked my first runway show at MBFW – Mark and Estel. What a way to kick off the season, gorgeous silk charmeuse plaids, tartan dresses, rain jackets and crop tops with riding pants. Plus Mark & Estel themselves came out on the runway for the models’ final walk and serenaded their audience (their road to the show on Paul Mitchell’s blog). The collection itself had a little bit of a gothic yet playful vibe, with hints of girly flounce and a few hats that I’m dying for next fall (stay tuned for a recap of all the shows I attended soon!); needless to say Mark and Estel are definitely on my radar and can’t wait to continue following their musical-fashion journey.
