Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like there are two ways you can go when dressing for the Fourth of July holiday – cheesy in American flag tanks and bikinis or in preppy patriotic stripes and red, white and blue solids. I’ve always been known to choose the latter, how about you?Â
Striped tee // Jean shorts (similar here) // Belt (gently used option and budget-friendly option) // Sneakers // Purse // Sunglasses // Watch c/o // Station bracelet
With Fourth of July just a week away, have you figured out your holiday weekend plans and outfit? We’re headed to our friend’s lake house in East Texas. Meaning half of the time will be spent in a bathing suit (Mikoh makes some of my favorite bikini tops, like this blue bandeau!) out on the boat and the other in my go-to cutoff shorts for the summer season and some easy basics.
You may recognize this boatneck tee, it’s sister is this adorable lilac striped one from this post. I loved it so much I grabbed it in navy too. Perhaps because I dress pretty preppy already, picking out preppy patriotic stripes for the holiday weekend was rather easy within the wardrobe I already have.
Let me reiterate that, I’m that fashion blogger that didn’t purchase something specifically to put together for a Fourth of July outfit post! #Shocker
But really, all sarcasm aside, pulling together patriotic looks is pretty easy within my wardrobe as I wear a lot of blues and have been loving pops of red in my accessories the last year or so. You may remember a previous post featuring this lace-up dress paired with my red sneakers, another adorable patriotic ensemble.
Easy cover-ups like this off the shoulder chambray number and my favorite Mi Golondrina dress will be making it into my duffle bag for the holiday weekend. And I’ll definitely be packing the red sneakers, they’ve been so fun to wear this summer – I know they’ll come in handy when I’m chasing our pup, Lucy, across the backyard as she gets lost on a scent.
But, let me tell you, if I didn’t already have my red pair, I’d definitely be adding this navy gingham pair of sneakers to my closet, asap!
Do you have any fun plans for the holiday weekend? Let me know below in the comments!

I am all about anything striped and cheesy flag tees for the 4th! I have so many striped shirts that I wear all the time, I’ll probably pull out one of my tanks since it’s the perfect time to wear them. Happy 4th!
