Hey friends, how is everyone? Let’s just say this month has been a weird one. Does anyone feel like Mercury is in serious retrograde? First Harvey, then Irma and the massive earthquake in Mexico. And today being the anniversary of September 11th… I think I’m ready for some happier times around here! Coming at ya with a happy outfit to kickoff this week, because who doesn’t love a little red cold shoulder top?
I have to admit I’ve always naturally gravitated towards blues in my closet and out shopping. But over the last few years, I’ve begun to add a few more pops of color including pinks and reds. It does still feel like I’m stepping out of my comfort zone when I wear those bright colors, but I keep going back to them thanks to the amount of compliments and ‘where did you get that?’ questions I receive.
One positive out of Harvey, was the most amazing cool front that dropped into our area last week and has since graced us with some amazing fall-like temperatures. And while unfortunately, the cool front isn’t around for long, I got to pull out some tops I hadn’t worn paired with jeans since our California trips.
Lucky for you, I’ve got another sale find today, in this fun little red cold shoulder top. Recently marked down to just $21 and comes in five other colors. I sized down, as it ran a little big. But a strapless bra can easily be worn with it and it makes for a perfect summer to fall transitional and budget-friendly item.
As for me, I am trying my best to ease back into a normal routine. Most kiddos are heading back to school today here in Houston. But it makes it tough to think about normalcy when there are still people in our city who have water in their homes. We’ve been trying to donate as much resources and personal time that we have to help. Rick and I are going to try to get some volunteering in this week, because as I said last week, this is a marathon, not a sprint. Recovery is going to take a long time here in Houston. xx
