Good morning, friends! It’s been a little radio silent over here, but for good reason. I’ve been working on a lot of brainstorming and different things to bring to the table here at adoredbyalex.com. One of these things is a regular weekly feature, I thought something along the lines of ‘Coffee Talk’ because I’m most certainly the type on Monday who sits with their coffee and peruses blogs and my go-to websites before diving into work.
Day 6: Adored by Alex Christmas Giveaways {2016}
On the sixth day of Christmas, Adored by Alex’s gift to thee…
Floral Separates
Y’all floral separates are my new jam. This separates number from Armani Exchange is the perfect outfit to bring along on a weekender, whether it’s to wear together or piece apart for different looks, it’s something every gal needs in her closet!
Classic with a Twist
Don’t let the sunny weather in these photos fool you, it’s been super chilly and damp here in Houston. Which is the type of weather that has me reaching for coats out of my coat closet before I leave my apartment. What better way to amp up a rather classic top, jeans and flats than with a leopard print coat topper?
Transitioning a Sleeveless Dress for the Holidays
I admit I have a lot of sleeveless dresses in my closet, more than my fair share and nearly not enough dresses with long-sleeves. However, I recently discovered the perfect way of transitioning a sleeveless dress into a wearable look for cool temperatures. Layering one of my go-to Equipment silk blouses underneath.
Suede Over the Knee Boots
There’s something I love about a great pair of suede over the knee boots. This suede Stuart Weitzman pair was in constant rotation last season and will continue to be this fall and winter.
Flares and Fringe
There are definitely quite a few trends as seen in this outfit. However, I feel like they’re subtly mixed together all into one without being too over the top. Flares and fringe, something I’ve seen all over the editorials and runways lately, and I’m totally okay with it.
Prep in Her Step
Believe it or not y’all I used to dress super preppy. I had that prep vibe going on in middle school and early high school where I popped my collar (thanks Gossip Girl) and thought wearing Lacoste polos and grosgrain bows in my hair was the epitome of cool. Obviously I’ve grown out of that prep phase, but that doesn’t mean I like a simple prep look from time to time.
Denim on Denim
Happy Friday, friends! We made it through the week! I’ve been seriously loving a denim on denim look, especially with flared jeans for transitioning into fall. I continually go back to this look and layer on a vest or a jacket dependent on the weather.
NYFW // Feathers & Faux Leather
New York Fashion Week is a whirlwind. For me, outfit changes were a must the first day or so because it was raining. NYFW street style could be described as an art form in some respects, but it’s seriously so fun stepping out of your comfort zone and usual outfit box and get a little creative.
Mosaic Off the Shoulder
Are any of y’all Project Runway watchers? I’ve been addicted since it started. Well, if you’ve watched, you might remember Houston-based designer, and winner, Chloe Dao. She has a boutique down in Rice Village in Houston and before heading off to Dubai I stopped by to check it out.
Classic White Button-Down
If there is one thing I can advocate strongly as a closet staple, it’s a classic white button-down shirt. You can find one at pretty much any budget point and if treated with care, can last.
