A few weekends ago, Rick and I took a Saturday night for ourselves and had a date night at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Mason Park. I hadn’t been to a movie in quite sometime, so it was a welcome change to have a full blown date night at the movies, drinks, food and entertainment all in one place. Considering it was a super cold night and raining, I knew I wouldn’t want to head to a restaurant and then over to the movie theatre. That’s the beauty of Alamo Drafthouse, everything is in one place! With a few locations around Houston and the surrounding suburbs, the Drafthouse is a unique a special locale for the latest movies, quote-a-longs, and revivals of our cult favorites, Home Alone or A Christmas Story this month anyone?!
We saw Interstellar in 35mm – apparently what the Director, Christopher Nolan, recommended for the viewing of his Intergalactic saga. I really enjoyed the movie, but then again, I’ve always kind of been a nerd with Science/Space/Oceanography stuff. While it may seem a little difficult to eat your dinner while watching a movie, I recommend arriving a little early, getting a good seat and ordering in advanced. We had a great time and will definitely be back soon!
