Happy Friday, y’all! We made it! I for once couldn’t be more thrilled it’s the weekend. Did you get a chance to grab a few items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale yet? Unfortunately their site went down yesterday, and caused a lot of unhappy shoppers, but it’s back up and running. FYI, because of that glitch, Nordstrom is offering 10x the points (10%) on any purchases made yesterday and today!
While the sale features almost all fall type clothing, I grabbed a handful of pieces that can be worn now. I don’t know about you, but for me I want to be able to buy now, wear now from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
There’s no lying that it’s super hot out in Houston, but I have to admit, I am one of those people who is always cold when I walk inside. Whether it’s a restaurant, store, etc. I always get the shivers because the air conditioning is usually being pumped in. With that, I like to grab a sweater, bring along a shawl or just wear a cute top with sleeves.
My approach to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 (see my top buys post) is simple and it should be for you too. For me, I had two tenants when making purchases: What basic/classic/timeless pieces am I missing from my wardrobe and need for fall? And, of those pieces what can I buy now and wear now?
A buy now, wear now from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale approach definitely helps to weed out the items which might initially make it into your shopping cart or dressing room, but you don’t actually need!
However, at a price of $23, I’m happy to justify adding one or a few of these long-sleeve thermal pullovers into my closet for rotation now and later. I’m wearing a size small (true to size) and love the looser, but comfy, fit of this pullover. Paired with some cute booties and a fun bag, this look would be great for dinner and a movie or heading to a concert.
Two other items to consider with the buy now, wear now from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale approach, are shoe and accessories purchases. These items are a lot easier to incorporate into our summer wardrobes.
I went into the sale knowing I wanted a pair of booties that would be fun, budget-friendly and worn in a combination of ways. Well y’all, these split shaft block heeled booties came home with me. Again, run true to size and are super comfortable – I already wore them for quite some time yesterday afternoon!
Topped with a chic Nubuck crossbody bag, big enough to fit your phone and other necessities but still small enough for date night, my buy now, wear now from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale look is totally complete.
Have you made any purchases yet? I hope so, because items and sizes are moving quickly! Let me know in the comments anything you’re loving.
