Summer is here! And while it may not be the most conventional one, I’m here to share how you can make the most of spending your time at home. We’ve been spending a lot of time on our patio; it’s an extension of our home footprint! As such, we’ve also been eating a lot of meals outside. Since time is on my side right now, I thought it’d be fun to put together a citrus inspired preppy tablescape for inspo now and later when we can entertain family and friends again.

The thing that’s bringing me joy right right now… lots and lots of color! So it’s only fitting that this tablsecape features tons of fun colors and patterns. You might recall last summer we spruced up our backyard patio, so I drew upon that color palette for this setup.
We’ve had pieces of this since last summer, and I love it so much, I decided to add to it. The subtle tone down the colors and patterns, plus the full set is dishwasher safe!
The combination of navy and orange has always been one of my all time favorites. So when I found these orange fringe napkins, I knew I could use them all year long. Yes, fabric napkins are a bit more upkeep. I like to iron mine before each use, but they’re such a sophisticated touch to a tablescape.
I’m a huge fresh flowers fan, so creating some arrangements with height, balance out the entire scene. I love these because they’re durable for outside use, but also have a felted bottom for eliminating scratching during indoor use. They’re also a budget-friendly find!
I kept my centerpiece costs down by emphasizing the floral arrangements and picking up a few pieces of citrus that I could cut in half and use along the table to tie together the entire theme. Plus, you can use them later for cocktail recipes, like my skinny margarita.
While dinner is cooking, I like to have a few apps to nosh on. My go to is always a cheeseboard or charcuterie (my tips for an easy board here ) with some nuts and dried fruits. Carrying over the theme of a citrus inspired preppy tablescape is easy when the trays and coordinating serveware match everything else!
Fill a serving bowl with ice and have some Topo Chico on hand, for an added cute, yet affordable touch.
Without a doubt we’ll be spending ample time out on our patio as we continue through the next few months. In case you hadn’t noticed, I love shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond because the finds are ample and fit into my lifestyle, plus a variety of others. Here’s to plenty of days to come enjoying our outdoor patio and dining space!
