If there is one thing I can advocate strongly as a closet staple, it’s a classic white button-down shirt. You can find one at pretty much any budget point and if treated with care, can last.
This particular classic white button-down is linen, much more breathable for summer and perfect for transitioning into the fall months here in Texas. If you can have multiple types of fabric options in a white button-down, then do it! But if you’re the investing type, then I’ve linked three classic, cotton, white button-downs at the following price points: low (on sale for $39.50), medium (regular price, $69.50) & high (regular price, $98.50).
I’m still learning the art of a half-way tucked-in shirt, but you can see this classic white button-down brings a little crispness to a casual outfit. The outfit still remains casual but at least looks like I tried, as opposed to throwing on jean shorts and a tee, right?!
You could easily make this more of a fall outfit by swapping out the linen for a cotton version of the classic white button-down and pairing a pair of skinny dark denim (best pair to ever exist!) or denim bell-bottom flares with wedges tucked in with the button-down for a timeless look.
