Three close Texas blogger gal-pals (Brittany, Lauren, Kim) and I took on Charleston this past weekend for #SBScon – otherwise known as the Southern Blog Society Conference. It was our first time in Charleston and we all were seriously charmed by it’s sophisticated southern style and quaint little streets and alleys everywhere we turned.
Top: Escapada Living c/o (sold out, similar style; similar print) // Shorts: Alice+Olivia // Sandals: Calypso St. Barth (similar) // Sunglasses: Celine // Earrings: Patty Clarke Designs // Clutch: Heidi Wynne c/o // Rings: Julie Vos; Kendra Scott c/o // Bracelet: Tory Burch for Fitbit // Bangle: ASHA (sold out, similar) // Cuff: Bauble Bar; Hermes // Watch: Kate Spade
We did a lot of walking – some 11k steps on Friday, thanks Fitbit – and because of that I was constantly changing outfits due to some good amounts of not so lovely sweat (not always looking like a perfect blogger over here!) and some aching feet had me swapping out shoes every few hours.
Lauren and I had the chance to head over to Escapada Living‘s signature store. It was seriously a treat because I’ve worked with the brand since the early years of ABA (last seen here) – so finally seeing the pieces all together in one place and meeting the team was so fun! I picked up this racerback tank and a great maxi for summer and travel.
We stayed at the Belmond Charleston Place and I could not recommend this hotel any higher! It was gorgeous and right in the heart of the city. Just steps away from King Street, a major, but quaint, thoroughfare for shopping, eats and bars, we spent a lot of time checking out what Charleston had to offer. Other major highlights were a walking tour Lauren and I took around the city tailored to architecture, the different neighborhoods (did you know Rainbow Row is only a few houses long?!) and for me, the closet history nerd, all the cool facts.
Saturday we headed into the conference where some great speakers and a brand panel informed us on some the up and coming trends, what to know for blogging and more. I met some really great gals whom I know I wouldn’t have met otherwise and discovered a city I love and hope to make it back to soon; I’d say that makes for a memorable and worthwhile trip!
