Without really realizing it, skincare has become one of my top priorities in the last few years. Not only do I enjoy taking care of my skin, but I also like to try different products that can help fight and keep the aging process at bay, the natural and non-invasive way.
A product that’s gained popularity the last few years, is one that I’ve jumped on the band wagon for as well – facial oils. But I’m not sharing with y’all just any facial oils, I’m sharing my favorite anti-aging facial oils, which I’ve personally tried and use.
I’ll admit, finding the right facial oils for my skin type was a daunting process. Oil itself has the tendency to leave skin greasy or overly moisturized, but there’s also some great properties to this skincare product, like glowing and moisturized skin.
Face oils are full of anti-oxidants and other helpful nutrients. Oils seal in hydration and penetrate the skin to help fight free-radical (further aging and wrinkles!) damage to your skin cells. Here’s a helpful article on how to use face oils correctly in your skincare routine.
And while I just turned 30, skincare has been super important in my personal routine since my early 20s. I never, ever go to sleep without taking off my makeup along with going through my entire skincare process each night. It’s just part of my life, and I will tell you it’s made a world of difference in my skin.
I previously shared my favorite skincare products worth the splurge, but what’s great about these anti-aging facial oils is they’re at a variety of price points for everyone!
My 5 Favorite Anti-Aging Facial Oils
Colleen Rothschild Face Oil No.9
The very first face oil I tried, maybe 5 years ago now. I love Colleen Rothschild skincare and I feel like the brand flies under the radar. Luxurious skincare, but not at the price of high-end counterparts, Colleen Rothschild beauty is high-performing and effective. What I love about the is, to me, it feels a touch drier upon application – almost like tanning oil. It’s not greasy and glides on nicely. Personally I use this facial oil under my moisturizer in the evening. It absorbs nicely and helps to lock in all my skincare steps, like toner and serum, before going to sleep.
Switch2pure Well & Glow Rejuvenating Facial Oil
If you’ve been a reader of Adored by Alex, then you’ll remember the name Switch2Pure from an interview I posted with the brand founder, Estella. I’ve been using the for a little over 3 months now and I’m obsessed. What I love about this product is it’s clean beauty – a natural, non-toxic, retinol alternative. It smells nice, and feels like it’s penetrating my skin barrier immediately upon application. My skin looks glowy and refreshed with every use. I truly feel like this oil has been a huge game changer for my skin, previously I was experiencing pigmentation and stress breakouts, but now it’s all gone! Worth every penny.
Guerlain Abeille Royale Youth Watery Anti-Aging Oil
The highest priced anti-aging facial oil of my five favorites, the is a 3-in-1 product of sorts. It’s an oil that combines the power of a serum, the richness of a facial oil and the qualities of a toner to refresh, smooth and plump up skin. This facial oil is unique in that prior to application you shake the bottle to activate the beads, apply to skin and tap in. The Abeille Royale collection features Royal Jelly, extracted from bees and usually reserved to feed the queen bee exclusively; it’s rich in proteins, nutrients and lipids to nurture skin. My only complaint about this facial oil is the strong fragrance. I personally have no issues with fragrances, most of the time, but this oil has given me the sneezes every now and then after use. The fragrance is nice, but every so often it smells too strong if I use too much of the product.
Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil
I really noticed a difference in my skin’s texture when I used this . 100% olive-derived Squalane, the only ingredient, it’s helped my skin feel soft and nourished. I’d dub this facial oil, the best luxury beauty facial oil, at an affordable price, plus it’s clean beauty (free of phthalates, parabens and over 1300 banned ingredients). It’s also free of fragrances and is non-comedogenic for most people. Squalane is known for boosting moisture retention and reducing the appearance of fine lines. With consistent use, I’ve seen little blemish marks or scaring diminish, plus in the winter it’s one of the best facial oils I’ve tried to fight dry and flaky skin. I even use this on my hands and cuticles at night before I go to bed.
derma E Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Oil
The that’s enriched with Vitamin A and Vitamin E, it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines along with nourishing and improving the skin’s appearance. I will preface by saying that this formulation feels the thickest of the five facial oils I’ve shared. It’s perfect for winter use, but I shift this oil to the back of my shelf come spring and summer. It’s a clean beauty option, that’s free of a variety of harmful ingredients, and under $15. I’ll say, if you’re looking for a facial oil to incorporate into your winter beauty routine, grab this asap, but it’s my least favorite of the five for continued use year around.
