I’ve been so fortunate to have the opportunity to travel quite a bit in my 26 years. And because of this, I feel like I’ve really taken time to perfect the art of what’s inside my travel cosmetic bag. After some requests and my most recent trip to New Orleans, I figured it was only appropriate to share what’s inside as of late.
There’s nothing I love more than testing out travel-sized products. I wish everyone made travel sizes! I’ve gotten extremely into multiple products that I used consistently for a few days on trips. It seems that more recently brands are offering travel sized products, for us gals-on-the-go, so when I either get one in my purchases or pick up a few at my favorite beauty counter, I always hold onto them. I keep a little bin under my sink with all these products and will pick and choose what I want to bring inside my travel cosmetic bag when it comes time to head out on a trip.
You can quickly click on all the products above, but I’m also going to list below what’s inside my travel cosmetic bag and give you mini reviews and specific reasons why I chose to bring these products along on my latest trip.
: As I said above, I’ve been fortunate to travel a lot, so with that comes a lot of experience with what I need in a travel cosmetic bag. It needs to be durable, with plenty of pockets and storage spots. This Lilly Pulitzer cosmetic bag was gifted to me for our honeymoon and it’s one of the best travel cosmetic bags I’ve used. Unfortunately this exact bag is sold out, but Lilly came out with a new dopp kit version that looks even more spacious, .
: Not sure about you, but for me, my skin takes a serious beating when I travel on an airplane and to a new climate. I’ve really loved this Colleen Rothschild Extreme Recovery cream because it’s a no frills cream that is potent and really works! I’ve got natural combination skin and this cream goes on lightweight and doesn’t feel like it clogs my pores. I usually apply this at night after I cleanse my face. You can find the travel size in this travel kit, here.
: Clinique was one of the first beauty brands I was introduced to as a young girl. I remember I had a little acne trouble and my mom took me to the counter at our local Macy’s to get outfitted. I’ve always thought Clinique skincare products are a solid go-to for any age. Somehow though in my years, I had moved away from Clinique until I received this eye cream at a trip.
I tend to use this eye cream before I go to bed. I’ll apply after cleansing and sometimes either before or after my moisturizer. To be honest I’m not a huge beauty buff when it comes to routines, etc. so if you have recommendations about application process, please share below! But I digress… I really like this product because it feels like it absorbs really quickly and helps with decreasing puffiness when I wake up in the morning.
: I’ve had this eye product in my travel cosmetic bag for quite a few years. I recently finished the product over Christmas and received a new one in the mail last month. I’m a huge proponent of this product! I apply it in the morning after I splash my face with some water and before I put on my all-over SPF on my face. This Eye Care product has three major components, concealer, moisturizer and SPF – three things that are super important to me at all times when it comes to skincare. I definitely notice a brightening difference when I use this product. As I said, I’ve returned to it over and over. Plus, I’ve used it everywhere from Dubai, New York City and Mexico.
: I was gifted a pack of these amazing eye masks last spring and I’ve somehow made them last almost a year. These babies are perfect for those tired eyes after a long flight, a late night out or just a morning pick-me-up. They’re super easy to apply, smell amazing and affordable for quite a few packs. I usually will apply in the morning after waking up to help alleviate puffiness and tired eyes. I’ve kept them on anywhere from 30-90 minutes and they don’t dry out. I will definitely be purchasing more of these! I like to keep 1-2 packs inside my travel cosmetic bag for emergencies.
: I’ve preached my love for this product quite a few times here on the blog and my social media channels. This stuff is bomb. I confess, I have a tube of it inside my travel cosmetic bag, my purse and my drawer in my bedside table. I’m a constant sufferer of dry and cracked lips, but when I use this lip conditioner consistently, the symptoms all go away! It definitely has more of a greasy consistency, like vaseline, but it lasts for multiple hours. I will usually apply at night right before I go to bed and also reapply in the AM after brushing my teeth. It’s definitely a high price-point for a lip balm, but I’m telling you, you won’t be disappointed! Again it’s great after traveling in the pressurized plane cabins as well as to multiple new climates.
& : First off, the obsession with multiple is so real. The Triple Sec 3-in-1 might just be my favorite for two reasons: the smell is divine and it works for me in multiple climates. For those two reasons alone a bottle always makes it inside my travel cosmetic bag. I’ve used the Triple Sec product in multiple climates, and it works on my hair everywhere! Whether it’s humid New Orleans or cool and not so humid California, it works for a little volume and texture. I always carry along the mini hairbrush too since it’s compact and easy for quick fixes. If you’re looking for a set, you can grab it .
: I picked up this rollerball perfume last summer on a California trip with my mom. It’s been a constant inside my travel cosmetic bag ever since. The scent is super clean and fresh. I really love the simplicity of just rolling it on my wrists and underneath my ears. I don’t have to mess with opening a small little perfume tester bottle, which half the time I spill on the counter or on myself! I always have a travel perfume rollerball inside my travel cosmetic bag because, well smelling good is important, right?
(Other mentionables)
: Really any travel deodorant is an absolute necessity, but I picked up this one at Target and have enjoyed it. I can attest that it did it’s job in New Orleans where I applied in the AM and went out most of the day exploring.
: Really, need I say anymore? We all need this in every bag and travel kit in my opinion.
I’d love to hear what y’all think. Do you use any of these products when you travel? Or are there some products that I need to try? If you have any questions on items I’ve covered, drop me a line via email and I’d be happy to share more!
Our next trip is to Phoenix in a few weeks, so I can always add to what’s inside my travel cosmetic bag! Let me know if you would like to know what’s inside my travel makeup bag. Hope you have a great Monday!
