I’d be lying if I didn’t say I’ve been wearing this metallic shrug kimono sweater on heavy repeat, since it arrived at my house before the holidays. It’s one of those pieces that I can trust and throw on quickly for errands or lunch with friends. I’m a firm believer that in the winter, you need one to two go-to outfits that you can throw on and go when it’s cold outside. Because for me, the dreary weather makes me not want to get out of my pjs!

Dressing in layers during Houston winters is key. The weather can be pretty unpredictable, sometimes it’s warm, sometimes it’s freezing, so best to be prepared for all elements. I love this metallic shrug kimono sweater because it’s an added layer to my otherwise plain striped long-sleeve tee. The kimono sweater is meant to be a bit oversized, too, which I love.
Paired with my trusty denim, it has a 26″ inseam for all my petite gals out there (means no hemming!) and my favorite pair of ballet flats (worth every penny), this look can take you from morning breakfast, through a day of errands or meetings and into the evening with a coat thrown over your shoulders.
I’ve found myself leaning towards more oversized sweaters this season because their cozy and easy to wear. How do you feel about the oversized trend? I do have to remind myself to be careful, because sometimes the oversized look can make a petite person, like me, look larger then I am. Just keep that in mind with sizing!
