A few weeks ago I shared with y’all my must-have spring skincare, and now it’s time to share my must-have spring makeup products. Of course there are a lot of beauty products in my arsenal, but I’ve found myself reaching for these six products time and time again this spring. Read along to find out what I’m loving!
PREVAGE City Smart Broad Spectrum sunscreen c/o // Bronzing Gel SPF 15 (sold out, similar) // Caviar Stick eye color // Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume mascara // Cils Booster XL Vitamin-Infused mascara primer // MatteLast liquid lip c/o
All us gals start out with the face makeup and base first, right? So let’s touch on that to start. To be perfectly honest, I’m not a huge foundation wearer, quite frankly I really don’t wear super cakey or heavy makeup at all. I personally opt for 1-2 ‘base layers’ if you will that give me what I’m looking for – primer, SPF, coverage that doesn’t look heavy.
PREVAGE City Smart Broad Spectrum sunscreen c/o // This product has been some of my favorite as of late. I absolutely love this protective sunscreen. It features a bit of tint while hydrating, protecting and revitalizing the skin. I will note that it’s a bit greasy for summer wear in humid-Houston, but as far as a must-have spring beauty product, I give it two thumbs up. I actually just pump out a dime size into my palm and rub my hands together. I usually apply it after my Vitamin C and eye serum for both an SPF protectant and a tinted type of CC cream.
All Over Bronzing Gel SPF 15 // I loveeee this product. I have to admit I was a bit hesitant about applying a bronzer gel to my face (for fear of it looking fake), but after a little practice, and always washing my hands after application, I got the hang of it. I love Bobbi Brown products so it was a no-brainer for me to try out this product. Sadly, this particular bronzing gel is sold out pretty much everywhere. I don’t know about you, but come early spring, my natural glow is usually lackluster and pale from winter’s harshness. I’d put an all over face bronzing gel at the top of my must-have spring makeup list, because we all can use a little help achieving a tan glow without laying in the sun!
I’ll tell you now, I most definitely don’t wear eye makeup every day. Again, I’m much more of a natural makeup sort of gal. If I do wear any eye makeup it’s generally mascara.
Caviar Stick eye color // Besides opting for more of a natural makeup look, I also like things that are easy. I discovered these Caviar eye color sticks back in high school and have been hooked on them ever since. They’re so simple and yet super functional. They come in both matte and non-matte colors and the formula is awesome. They’re long-lasting and lightweight – they don’t crease up either which I truly appreciate here in Houston.
Cils Booster XL Vitamin-Infused mascara primer // Not the first time I chatted about this mascara primer here on the blog, and definitely not the last. I’m by no means a beauty blogger but I have really enjoyed using this primer. I never have used a primer before finding this one, and I totally can tell a difference when I wear it. My mascara has serious staying power and my lashes feel much more conditioned and supple. I’ve had friends tell me that they’ve tried some primers that have left their lashes clumpy, but there’s no clumping here. Check out my previous post featuring this primer here.
Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume mascara // Another tried and true product here on Adored by Alex. This mascara is one of my serious ride or die makeup products. I’ve gotten my mom hooked on it and quite a few friends too. The formula is seriously so good and the wearability is outstanding. No matter what the weather is, dry or humid, I’ve had no issues with this mascara. I’ve found some formulas clump or run in certain types of weather, but this one works at home and on my travels.
MatteLast liquid lip c/o // I’m not a huge liquid lip product person, but I was gifted this MatteLast liquid lip stain and it’s so good. Plus it’s so reasonably priced, too! The staying power is pretty epic – honestly it can be a little difficult to get off, even with makeup remover. It definitely does feel like velvet when I put it on my lips and I love the lightweight formula. In previous experience some matte liquid lip products I’ve tried either seriously dry out my lips or don’t last like they proclaim. This Pixi liquid lip product is true to its marketing and doesn’t dry out my lips – a serious win!
