New York Fashion Week is a whirlwind. For me, outfit changes were a must the first day or so because it was raining. NYFW street style could be described as an art form in some respects, but it’s seriously so fun stepping out of your comfort zone and usual outfit box and get a little creative.
After a full day of constant drizzling rain, I changed into this look for the GiGi New York, High Fashion Home, Yosi Samra boat party with Hornblower Cruises. Even though it was a bit choppy and super rainy, the experience was a great way to kick off NYFW as we made our way along the Hudson River. Mingling with old friends and meeting new ones, it was so fun to boat along the Hudson in style.
With the weather, I wanted to wear something that had layers unless I got soaked or a chill. This feather vest is a new closet staple, thanks to Cheeky Vintage, one of my favorite vintage stores here in Houston. The feather is a little lighter-weight than say the usual fur or faux fur vest I may pull out to layer with in the late fall and winter. I just love the blush pink hue and paired with leather pieces it gives a juxtaposition of hard and soft.
Can’t wait to continue sharing more from NYFW, keep checking back! xx
