Summer is almost here! Meaning it’s outdoor entertaining season at the Haines house! We’ve been in our home for a few years and I never felt as if we had a patio space that fit our needs. Well now that’s changed thanks to Bed Bath & Beyond who have partnered with Adored by Alex for an outdoor patio refresh fit for summer entertaining on our patio.

In the last few years, our patio space has always just been a hodge-podge of items that we previously owned. While we use our patio space quite often, we just never really took the time to invest in putting together the perfect entertaining space. I knew I wanted to create a gathering place for our little family and anyone else we might invite over.
Before beginning our patio revamp, Rick and I discussed our musts. For Rick, his only request was for the furniture pieces to not only look nice but also be comfortable! I can’t tell you how often I’ve thought how great a piece of patio furniture looked, only to sit on it and think twice. With that being said, my biggest concern in our search was durability. I wanted pieces that could withstand more than just one season out on our patio (thanks to Houston heat, humidity and constant rain).
The pad of concrete on the front part of our patio is perfect for gathering. When initially looking at furniture, I wanted pieces that could withstand Houston heat, humidity and moisture. I read tons of reviews (which I love about Bed, Bath and Beyond, they’re very informative) and ultimately chose this , made of weather resistant material with steel frames.
I actually took the extra step in protection for my new patio furniture, and ordered for each of my furniture items. Houston weather is no joke, y’all! These covers have been the saving grace for the furniture, keeping them dry and looking like new after a variety of storms.

It’s no secret I love color, so I wanted to make a colorful splash in our little space. I kept things traditional with the actual patio furniture set, but opted to make a color splash with throw pillows, an umbrella and other accessories.
Throw pillows can easily up the ante in any space, indoors or outdoors! They’re an easy and affordable way to change the look or color scheme within a space. I ended up going with a variety of printed and solid pillows which pack a punch all on their own!
Who knew there were so many different types and sizes of outdoor umbrellas. Our patio space isn’t super wide, so I opted for a simple, yet colorful, . I was worried the color was going to be super bright, but it’s the perfect color pop. Our patio space receives sun from 11am to 4pm in the summer, so keeping it open and over the space makes it much cooler. [one_half] [/one_half][one_half_last][/one_half_last]
Our patio refresh fit for summer entertaining has me so excited for the possibilities this season and beyond! I’ve been spending so much time out in the space, and it’s become a nice little extension to our home’s footprint. I’ll let Lucy out to chase the lizards in our flowerbeds, while I enjoy a glass of water with fresh mint from my herb garden, and catch up on a magazine.
Be sure to check out all the outdoor offerings at Bed Bath & Beyond! Whether it be for a screened in porch or an apartment patio, there are so many different offerings available. Shipping was a breeze and assembly wasn’t too difficult, either. We were lacking functionality previously and now our space is perfect for our family. Cheers to kicking off summer with a beautiful, revamped outdoor space!

What a beautiful outdoor living space. Now if you could get rid of the Houston humidity and COVID 19, you might be able to entertain friends. You have the Klein/Carreno/Haines genes for creative?decorating flair flare. It is gorgeous and quite inviting. BB +B surprises. Wow
