Finally, cooler weather! I know I talk about weather a lot around here, but obviously the weather correlates with what outfits I’m wearing and posting. This fall, I’ve made an effort to try and wear more than just plain ole’ jeans and tops. In such an effort, I found these crop jean-type olive pants and paired them with a preppy sweater blazer.

So, I had seen this sweater blazer last season and just never got my hands on one. I love the dressed up feel of the cardigan coupled with a blazer cut that’s perfect for a corporate setting as we dive deeper into the fall and winter seasons. I opted to pop the collar up for this particular outfit, but also love it worn as a traditional blazer with a long-sleeve striped shirt underneath and the blazer sleeves pushed up a touch.
If you’ve been following here for some time, then you’ll notice I’m not one to wear blazers super often. But, I do have a classic black one I love (last seen here and here). I purchased it back in 2015 in NYC and wear it multiple times a year – it’s a true closet staple.
When I tried on the sweater blazer, I knew I could incorporate it nicely into my wardrobe. For a preppy sweater blazer ensemble, I’m pairing it with printed tops (like above) or striped tees layered underneath. I’m excited to style it in more ways as the season progresses.
A note on sizing for the pants: I bought these pants in store, and found that I needed to size down. If you check out the reviews online, almost all say size down at least one size, and some others even say two sizes.Â
