I’m pretty sure I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to take care of skin whether your in your 50s or 20s. I’ve been an active proponents of skincare in your younger years for quite sometime. When I was introduced to SkinCeuticals last year, I wasn’t sure if the product would fit my regime, but I’m on the bandwagon!
As I’m sure you’ve read before on this little spot of mine on the Internet, I am a huge advocate of skincare in your 20s. At 25, I’ve been taking care of my skin with a pretty steady routine for about three to four years now.
Growing up in Arizona, I spent my fair share of time in the sun, lathering on the tanning oil and playing sports like golf and tennis without any sunscreen. In college, I did add in a little sunscreen more often, but I went to a tanning bed a couple of times and could not regret it more now that I look back on it.
However, as an impressionable younger gal, it’s easy to fall in line with the desires of being super tan and ‘too cool for sunscreen’.
What might be even more interesting is that my mom and her entire side of the family is super fair-skinned. I grew up with her always going to the dermatologist and wearing sunscreen. But I took on the invincible mentality and being that my dad is from Venezuela, I figured I’d never be susceptible to wrinkles or skin cancer.
I actually made it to my very first dermatologist appointment here in Houston bout two years ago, and boy was that an eye-opener. Let’s just say it was a rude-awakening.
Before being introduced to SkinCeuticals I took the simple route of skincare – cleanse, sometimes exfoliate and every so often put on face cream and sunscreen. However, since SkinCeuticals, my skincare routine has evolved to another level that I most definitely won’t be changing anytime soon.
I have to say my favorite SkinCeuticals product hands down is the Metacell Renewal B3 serum. I use it every single day on both my face and neck. With every application and regular use, the serum helps promote skin cell turnover to fight signs of photoaging and wrinkles. I love the formula because it’s super lightweight and in Houston where it’s always so humid, it’s the perfect product.
I’ve found a lot of exfoliators can be too coarse and rough on my skin. I have always been prone to blackheads on my nose, and have to take care of the issue with facials and extractions, but using the Micro-Exfoliating Scrub two to three times a week keeps my blackheads more at bay then without.
Finally, the Advanced Pigment Corrector is billed to help with dark spots and skin tone evenness. Quite frankly, this is the product I use the least. Besides dark circles under my eyes, I don’t really experience pigment issues with my face (knock on wood). However, I have a feeling I will be using this product more as we head into summer and I begin to spend more time out in the sun again.
I will be the first to tell you, that these products are a bit pricey, but they are 150% worth it! I have received some (as noted by c/o above), but I’ve also purchased these products for myself because I stand so highly behind the name!
A few of the other SkinCeuticals products I love: A.G.E. Eye Complex, Phloretin CF, Physical UV Defense SPF 30

I’m right there with you about taking care of your skin no matter what the age. I’m pretty religious about it myself! I may have to give this line a try. Thanks for sharing!!

So true skin care is so so so important! It does not matter what age and it is never too early or too late to start taking care of your skin! I am also very fair skinned so I am very wary of being in the sun or getting burnt and causing damage! Great post!
