Summer is right around the corner, and one of my favorite pastimes of the season is to stock up on some great beach and poolside reads! I love a good page turner, and especially love a book with a little romance, a great cast of characters and one that sucks me in with the storyline and writing. Here’s a round up of books to add to your summer reading list!

Books to Add to your Summer Reading List
The Girl He Used to Know
BY TRACEY GARVIS GRAVES
I loved this book and found it really hard to put down. It’s filled with all the good stuff: romance, heartbreak and a heroine who’s a fighter. The twist towards the end of the novel, was one I didn’t expect, but made it all that more compelling and a book I couldn’t stop reading, even at 2:30am.
Tiny Imperfections
BY ALLI FRANK & ASHA YOUMANS
The duo authors’ debut novel, I found this book so charming and witty. Another one that was hard for me to put down. The perfect beach or poolside read, filled with a little sass, plenty of laughs and romance, too. As a child of private schools, this one hit close to home in a hilarious way!
Lana’s War
BY ANITA ABRIEL
I’m a sucker for World War II fiction (catch a post detailing some of my favorite WWII fiction books here), and this novel was mesmerizing. The storytelling, the setting and the writing had me itching for more, along with a vacation to the French Riviera! Lana’s character is compelling and her story is filled with both suspense and resilience.
The Proposal
BY JASMINE GUILLORY
I’d been told by many that this book was a must-read. I will say, it was witty and funny to start, but I had a hard time getting through the middle of it. I enjoyed the cast of characters and loved the romantic-comedy aspect, definitely a perfect beach read for the summer.
American Royals
BY KATHERINE MCGEE
Fans of the Royal Family need to add this book to their must-read list. I consider this novel a Gossip Girl meets Downton Abbey, with a variety of dramatic storylines, romance and everything you love about the royal family. Even better, is this royal family is reimagined to live and rule over the United States. A page turner, that now , too.

I found The Proposal at a used book store a few months ago and it’s on my shelf waiting to be read! Lana’s War also sounds SO good!

Oh, good find! I always forget about used book stores, I need to start hitting those up as I spend so much on a book I only read once. I try to give them to friends to read after me. I loved Lana’s War! Let me know what you think of The Proposal. xx
