Summer is over, fall is right around the corner. That awkward couple of weeks where it’s totally difficult to dress. I’m here to give you an outfit idea for that pesky summer to fall transitional style.

I recently received this fun leopard print bias cut skirt from one of my favorite preppy, girly brands, (last seen here). I know I’ll be wearing this skirt plenty of times come fall with booties and one of my favorite cashmere crewneck sweaters, but it’s just too dang hot here in Houston for those kind of outfit plans right now. Truly, it really doesn’t become sweater weather here until late-October, if we’re lucky. But, I want to wear this skirt now!
Never fear, I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve. And they’re really not too difficult. Tackling that summer to fall transitional style is easy when you incorporate a few closet staples that are already handy from the previous summer season. Enter the white t-shirt and a comfortable pair of sandals.
I always have at least two white t-shirts on heavy rotation throughout the summer (they’re cheap and hold up after multiple washes). Simply knot it up and you’ve got a youthful combination paired with this leopard print skirt. Y’all know I’ve been wearing these mule heeled sandals tons this summer (see this outfit post), and I’ve had fun incorporating their fun Marigold color into my wardrobe. Add a fun pop of color with them and you’ve got a fun outfit that’s perfect for the summer to fall transitional style. Now I’m ready for these awkward months between summer and fall!
