Who else is loving that football is back?? I’m a huge football junkie, of course I cheer on the Texans, but my teams are the Arizona Cardinals and the Texas Longhorns. Meaning burnt orange is a steady color in my closet and future wardrobe choices!
How about that amazing double overtime win the Longhorns had over Notre Dame last Sunday?? Of course we had recorded it and the recording ran out of time before we could get through all of overtime!! But knowing that the boys in burnt orange pulled out a huge win for the program was beyond exciting.
Today I’ve teamed up for the kickoff of a fun series throughout the fall – Football Fridays – in which myself and other bloggers are styling our collegiate shade of orange for game days throughout the season.
Back to my school, THE University of Texas… if you are a Texan or have visited Texas in August, you know it’s h-o-t. Whenever we head to games I try to wear lightweight tanks or dresses that will be somewhat breathable. Also avoidance of the true bra in the form of a bralette, is totally clutch.
However, it’s inevitable that there will be sweating. So, more often than not I actually go with wearing burnt orange than say, white. And when everyone else is sweating around you, it’s kind of one of those things that you forget about, especially when Texas is winning!
When I’m not specially in Austin for a game, where there’s usually tailgating and pregame shenanigans (meaning lots of standing and walking), I’ll usually keep my Lucchese cowboy boots tucked away until it gets a little cooler outside. In the interim I’ll usually wear some comfy sandals or in this case these platforms I’ve loved all summer (last seen here).
Burnt orange is definitely a unique shade of orange, but ironically it’s really popular this season, so stocking up on game day wear has been easy. I am loving this printed dress, this roll sleeve tunic for when it gets a little cooler outside and this cold shoulder top.
Be sure to catch all the other gals and their outfits for football Fridays below! Happy weekend and Hook ‘Em!
