It seems everyone has their own take on must-have mascaras, to each their own! I’ve tried my fair share of mascaras over the years, and have found many that I won’t repurchase, and few that I go back to time and time again. Those are truly the tried and true mascaras!
So, today for y’all, I’ve done the leg-work and narrowed things down to three of my must-have mascaras.
Maybe you’re thinking to yourself, “wow, just three, I have a whole section of my makeup drawer devoted to mascaras,” or “three, yikes, I only use and have used one mascara for ages”. Regardless of how many mascaras make up your cosmetics arsenal, there are some that are standouts from the rest. For me, my top three must-have mascaras are: , and . I’ve tried many-a-mascaras before these babies came into my life and after I added them to my makeup drawer, and nothing has really compared.
Read on, and I’ll break it down for you – the how I found the mascara, why I love it and why I think you will too!
// This mascara is worth every penny. The priciest of my three must-have mascaras ($32), but worth it in my opinion! My mom introduced me to this mascara a few years ago, and I find myself returning to it time and time again.
The brush is bigger, however the actual bristles are both long and short for extreme volume. This mascara takes the thinnest and lightest of lashes and makes them full and voluminous. How do I know this? Well my mom is fair-skinned, blue eyed and blonde hair. It works.
The Chanel Le Volume de Chanel also has some serious staying-power. I specifically choose to wear this mascara when I know I have a super long or busy day or an evening event. If you opt for , there’s an option available.
// I discovered this mascara a few years ago after having my makeup done by IT Cosmetics at New York Fashion Week. One of my top three must-have mascaras, this mascara ($24) is a gem for getting up close and personal with my lashes.
I specifically use the for my bottom lashes. As you can see in the photos above the brush head is super, super thin. The bristles are teeny-tiny making for a really tight difference between the root and end of my lashes.
I don’t often use mascara on the bottom lashes, more just for nighttime date nights or when I have an event / blog shoot. I really like the definition that this mascara gives to the bottom of my eyes.
It claims to have an eyeliner effect, which I wouldn’t exactly stand behind, but it definitely gets down and deep into the roots of my eyelashes. I’ll still use my go-to eyeliner a little on the bottom lid. I’m not one to put liner in my water line, but that’s a completely different post! P.S. there’s a available too.
// Okay y’all, this is my go-to, everyday mascara. I love this mascara. Everything from the bristles and brush, to the long-lasting but not overly difficult to get off formula; this mascara is the bomb in my book! Almost every time I wear it I receive at least one or more compliments on how long my lashes look.
The consistency is not too thick, nor thin, and the skinny brush is great for packing in the volume. I really only swipe about one, maybe two layers of mascara total when I use it. I find that it really lengthens and separates my lashes for a completely voluminous look.
I learned about about a year ago, and must say I will never turn my back from their Glamolash Mascara Skinny. This mascara clocks in at $28. Shop it , and .
Now yes, I did narrow down my picks to three must-have mascaras, but if you ask me which you should try first… hands down, the Rodial Glamolash Mascara. As I said, it’s the best everyday mascara I’ve found. It stays put and give my lashes that extra touch of volume, making my eyes pop!
