Valentine’s Day Date Night at Home Tablescape
Low-key and intimate, that’s my motto this year when it comes to celebrating Valentine’s Day. I’ve always felt that way about the holiday though, it’s not really a favorite of mine. But a Valentine’s Day date night at home, is the perfect way for us Haines to celebrate the holiday!

Fun part about this Valentine’s Day tablescape is it’s pulled together from a bunch of houseware items I already own. You might remember the Mackenzie Childs dinner plates from this al fresco summer table blog post. And the beautiful coupe glasses were my grandmother’s, last seen here in this sparkling pink lemonade cocktail recipe.
I’m guilty for loving Valentine’s Day candy, so of course our Valentine’s Day date night at home tablescape couldn’t be without heart-shaped Sweet Tarts and gummy heart bites.

As always, the flowers for my flower arrangements come from Trader Joe’s, the best spot for affordable flowers! I’ve previously shared some tips for quick flower arrangements, and TJ’s is my go-to spot for roses, carnations, greenery and more.
For these arrangements I purchased Carnations, Calla Lillies, petite Roses and Eucalyptus. I like to open up all the flowers across a table or my kitchen counter and individually put together the arrangements based on what vessel I use – in this case, little silver julep cups and a unique natural bamboo flower vessel.
Personally, I’d opt to order in for this date night celebration, but if you’re in the mood to cook, you might consider this delicious creamy pasta Carrabba recipe!
