We’re having some downright strange weather here in Texas, which has caused my skin to go absolutely wacky the last few months. In the interim, I’ve changed up my winter to spring skincare routine up a bit to accommodate both dry skin (from the colder days and running the heater) to oily skin (when we have these randomly hot & humid rainy days) and everything in between!

I feel like the easiest way to do this is to list out each item and my thoughts on it. Everything is linked above, will be linked individually in the broken-out format and also linked below, at the end of the post. As always, let me know if you have any specific questions below in the comments or email me!
Drunk Elephant B-Hydra intensive hydration gel // I’ve been on the Drunk Elephant skincare bandwagon for over a year now. I picked up some small travel-sized bottles for my honeymoon last January and loved them. Their PR team sent me a box of product to test out and I’ve been addicted to the intensive hydration gel (previously mentioned in this post). I’ve even gotten Rick to use it from time-to-time. With the extreme cold here in Houston December and January, my skin was just not having it. I noticed my forehead, nose and chin had skin flaking off due to dryness. I applied this gel formula to my skin both morning and night after washing my face and noticed a difference within the first few days of use. If you take a look at the reviews on the product, you’ll see people rave about it, too. The gel is absolutely weightless and the scent is light and fresh. All in all, I’ll be keeping this product in my skincare routine, but it’s been an extremely awesome find and positive addition to my winter to spring skincare routine.
Drunk Elephant Shaba Complex eye serum // Another Drunk Elephant product I’ve been using every single night. Even though I’m still in my 20s, I swear by all things serum, moisturizer and wrinkle prevention. This eye serum is lightweight and has visibly reduced the dark circles I had been experiencing during the stressful holidays. I don’t have too many visible fine lines around my eyes, but I like to think the serum is tackling them. One of my favorite parts of the serum is that I can apply on my eyelids and around my lash line and eyebrows… which has made a huge difference! Thanks to the Copper Peptides, lash and eyebrow growth is maximized. A huge plus in my book and an added appeal to the higher price tag.
Dr. Brandt No More Baggage eye de-puffing gel // Okay y’all, if there’s one product you need to purchase right now, it’s this one. I truly didn’t believe the hype, but one day during the holidays I noticed this cult de-puffing eye gel was on sale, so took the plunge to see what the talk was all about. Well after using every morning for more than a week, I realized for myself that the hype is real. True to it’s name, the gel provides no more baggage. The formula is a bit on the thicker side, but a pinhead sized amount on my index finger and rub between both left and right fingers then dab under both my eyes. Almost immediately, you can feel the formula slightly pulling or tightening the skin. It’s amazing! I apply after washing my face and applying Vitamin C serum and let it set for about 3-5 minutes before applying sunscreen or tinted moisturizer. I’ll definitely be reordering this product!
Estee Lauder makeup remover // You’ve probably been told over and over again that taking off your makeup is one of the most important parts of the nightly routine. Well, believe it, folks. After investing in some makeup remover that I knew I’d actually use, I realized the true importance and positive affect taking off all my makeup had on my skincare routine. For multiple years, I used makeup remover wipes. However I’d get lazy or not use them unless I had heavy eye makeup on to conserve the wipes. Well, now with the Estee Lauder makeup remover, I simple pump out the lotion onto a soft facial cleansing pad and gently wipe off all bits of makeup. Then I cleanse my skin to remove anymore remnants of makeup. I’ve really noticed that this gentle formula keeps my skin soft all while removing all of my makeup.
Pixi Rose Flash Balm // Prior to this year, I hadn’t tried Pixi products. In all honesty, I tend to avoid drugstore skincare as I’ve found it to be a little more harsh on my skin or not as effective. I was sent the Rose Flash Balm in a PR package and loved the smell. In the winter to spring transition, I’ve found that my skin is more receptive to a slightly thicker primer than my usual Hourglass primer. Besides the unbelievably wonderful smell, I really like the way this balm leaves my skin feeling. Before my usual makeup routine, I apply my AM skincare go-tos – Vitamin C serum, No More Baggage de-puffing eye gel – then apply a thin layer of this Rose Flash Balm. I was worried that the consistency would feel heavy on my skin, but with the mantra less is more, I simply apply an extremely thin layer as primer.
Any skincare products you can’t live without? These five products have been huge in my arsenal for winter to spring skincare. Of course, with the ever changing weather and travel, I’ll be switching things up every so often, and will be sure to keep you updated right here!
