Stepping into Fall with DSW Shoes

There are quite a few things I love about fall. I could go on and on, but the one thing I love best is picking up a new pair (maybe a few pairs) of cold-weather-appropriate shoes. So what better way to step into fall than with DSW Shoes!

The bootie is still a major staple on the runways (as noted back in September at SS16 NYFW), but also in our wardrobes as we move into months with cooler temperatures.

I’ve personally had my eye on all things marsala, the current Pantone color of the year, so when I found a pair of Steve Madden marsala-hued booties, specifically the above Sterre Western Booties, I knew I had to add them to my closet. Not only are these booties going to carry me from football games in the fall (they’re super comfy, thank goodness for the chunky heel trend!), but they’ll also be a great bootie for the holiday season, paired with leggings and jeans for a 70s-inspired look, or even tights and a cute dress.

I grew up in Arizona, so the idea of shoes that would outlast cold weather was definitely not at the top of my list when purchasing a pair a new pair. However, I’ve found myself traveling to places in the last few years that experience both ice and snow. My Steve Madden booties from DSW Shoes are a great pair to rely on during cold weather. I personally go up at least half a size in booties, as I usually want to wear a thicker sock.

Last February in New York City, I wore booties much more than my all-weather boots. I love a great pair of all-weather boots, but, again, for this Texas-living gal, snow boots aren’t exactly a necessity. So having a pair of go-to shoes, at an affordable price point, is perfect for this non-snow trekking Houstonian.

I realize though that some of you may be reading from a locale that already has snow on the ground, so don’t fret! I’ve rounded-up my favorite pairs of cold weather shoes suitable for wherever. I’m easily stepping into fall with DSW Shoes, will you?
