As we reach summertime and the days get longer and lighter, it’s only fitting to take advantage of it, by unwinding on my patio with a glass of .
Just like a number of other careers, working for myself can be exciting and rewarding, but also tiring and stressful. That’s why it’s extremely important for me to indulge in a little ‘me time’ with Wente Wine whenever possible. Unwinding outside on our patio with a glass of wine, some cheese & crackers plus a good magazine is one of my favorite things.
We often hear the phrase ‘self-care’ thrown around a lot in this day and age. Whether it’s taking some time to meditate, go to the gym or read a good book, self-care (aka relaxing or unwinding) has always been an important aspect to my life. So when I finish my work a little earlier than planned or find myself with some unplanned time at the end of my day, I’ll uncork a bottle of Wente Morning Fog Chardonnay to enjoy outside.

I’ve always loved a crisp glass of white wine when the days get hotter. Chardonnay is one of my favorite varietals, especially when it has an oaky or buttery finish. I love that the is full-bodied but not heavy on the palette. It’s a crisp and refreshing pairing for a warm spring or summer evening.
When I’m fortunate enough to be able to fit in some end of day me time with Wente Wine, I love prepping a little cheese plate and grabbing a glass of wine before heading outside. Sometimes I’ll bring along a magazine and other times I’ll just take in my surroundings or watch my pup Lucy try to chase the lizards in our garden beds.

That end of day me time definitely helps me to reset, realize my intentions and goals for the remainder of the week or reevaluate the work I completed earlier in the day. Other times, I’ll try to detach myself from thinking about work or life’s other stressors during my time. Sometimes it’s easier said than done!
One thing is for certain, unwinding at the end of my day has become pertinent to my wellbeing and success. I look forward to getting away from my desk and breathing in some of that evening fresh air. Sipping on a glass of doesn’t hurt to help me unwind, either! And since I’ve tried to limit myself on drinking throughout the week, it’s become a savory treat that I look forward to rewarding myself on occasion.
